Obituary

Allen Barlow Washam,Sr., 66, of Satsuma, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Putnam Community Medical Center, following an extended illness. The son of Lonnie James Washam & Jimmie Lee Barlow, Allen was born Friday, August 4, 1944 in Waynesboro, Mississippi. He was educated in the Wayne County Mississippi School system. He has been a resident of Putnam County for over 30 years. On September 5, 1998, Allen married the former Shirley Ann Jackson in Palatka. He was a former machine and tractor operator with M&L Timber, Elliott Timber, and Bunnell Cypress. Allen and his wife often visited To God Be the Glory Holiness Church. He was past worshipful master of Sturwell Lodge # 348 F&A.M. in Hastings. He was an avid fisherman and he really enjoyed playing horseshoes. Allen is preceded in eternal rest by His Father, Lonnie Washam; Son, Allen B. Washam, Jr.; Brother, Bobbie Robison; Cousin, Louis Henry; and five grandchildren. To cherish his memories: beloved wife of 12 years, Shirley Ann Jackson Washam, Satsuma; Mother & Stepfather, Mrs. Jimmie Lee and L.C. Robison, Sr., Dayton, OH; Daughters, Melissa Warren, Cynthia Warren, and Keshia Warren, all of Waynesboro; Elizabeth Johnson, Brunswick, GA; Alma Johnson, Palatka; Sons, Donell Johnson, Dennis (Sheila Stokes) Johnson, Eddie (Kesha) Johnson, all of Palatka; Sisters, Velma Davis, Waynesboro; Alice Hutcherson, Juanita Robison, Patricia Robison, and Clarissa Hamilton, all of Dayton; Brothers, L.C. Robison, Jr., Jesse Robison, Larry Robison, Gray L. Robison, Michael Robison, Thomas Robison, Freddie Robison, all of Dayton; 27 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family and friends will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, November 19 with the Homegoing Celebration at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 20 at the Chapel of Serenity2400 Madison Street, Palatka. His brother-in-law, Elder Jaufees Peoples, Jr., pastor of Bradenton First Born Church of the Living God, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery, Palatka.
