The son of Saul Scott and Elena (Studymine) Hough, he was a native of Palatka and was educated in the Putnam County School District at Central Academy High School. Hough and father, Saul Scott, Algie was preceded in eternal rest by his brother, Wardell Saul "Peter" Scott; aunt, Essie Bryant.

He leaves to cherish his memories: sister, Rosa Hopkins Williams, Haymarket, VA; brothers, Bobbie Hopkins, Wilbert "My-My" (Ann) Hough and Tondrick Hough, all of Palatka; niece, Teryse Williams; nephews, Carlton Williams, III, Devinn Hough, Wilbert Hough, Jr.; devoted cousins, Rachel Lee, Judy Fuce, Anita McCullough; devoted friends, Linda Gail Pittman, Roselyn Hill, Charlie Melton, Reverend James Vickers, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Celebration in honor of Algie's life will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, May 18, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Reverend James Vickers, Pastor of New Mt. Tamo Missionary Baptist Church, Pomona Park, is the eulogist.
