Obituary

Alberta Martin, 74, of Crescent City, peacefully entered the sunset of life on Friday, April 3, 2020 at Lakewood Nursing Center, Crescent City. The daughter of Berton Williams and Gladys Grant (Cooper), she was born on Tuesday, April 10, 1945.  A native and lifelong resident of Crescent City, she was educated in the Putnam County School.  After graduation, she attended college for a couple of years.  She was a retired homemaker who worked various jobs throughout her working career. Alberta was a Christian woman who loved the Lord.  She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was saved for over 30 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her brother, Clarence Williams; stepfather, Edward Cooper; sister-in-law, Charlotte Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memories: devoted daughter, Toni (Curtis) Williams; grandchildren, Curtis Williams, Jr., Christina (Ralf) Thornton, Sidney (Keara) Williams; great grandchildren, Amari' Auna Williams, Jadon Thornton, Jada Thornton, Janae Thornton; sister , Bettye (Fred) Neelye; brothers , Michael Cooper, Stanley Cooper, Eddie (Odessa) Cooper; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the Governor's executive stay-at-home order, the family will conduct a private ceremony at Flagg's Chapel of Serenity.
