Albert Al Watts, Jr., 48, of Gainesville, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine. He was a native of Palatka, born Friday, December 11, 1959 and had resided in Gainesville for over 30 years. He was educated in the Putnam County School District during his elementary and middle school years and was a 1977 graduate of Gainesville Eastside High School. He was a self-employed entrepreneur of Watts Painting Company, Inc. (a residential & commercial painting contractor). Al was affiliated with the Church of God By Faith all of his life and was a musician for numerous churches in the Putnam, Alachua, & Duval Counties region. He played the bass guitar, drums, and the trumpet. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, bowler, and a basketball fan. Al was preceded in eternal rest by his father, Elder Albert Watts, Sr., maternal grandparents, Elder A.B. Benjamin & Mother W. B. Benjamin; paternal grandparents, Joe & Minnie Watts. To Cherish His Memories: Parents: Naomi B. & Mel Couzart, Altamonte Springs; devoted fiance, Millicent Stevens, Palatka; Sons, Cedric Watts & Michael Watts, both of Gainesville; daughter, Letasha (Dewayne) Allen, Gainesville; Brothers, Clarence (Pastor Shirley) Watts & James Carlton (Pastor Kimara) Watts, both of Gainesville; Renell Couzart, St. Louis, MO; Sisters, Len Houston & Waletta Couzart, St. Louis, MO; Brenda Couzart, Denver, CO., 5 grandchildren; a host of aunts & uncles; nieces & nephews, cousins, other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family & friends will be Monday, July 28th from 5-8 p.m. at the Chapel of Serenity. Homegoing Celebration will be Tuesday, July 29, 2008, 1 p.m. at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Ave., Palatka. Bishop Willie Q. Courtney, pastor of Higher Anointing Ministries is the Eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made in loving memory of AL at Albert Watts, Jr., Memorial Fund, c/o Naomi B. Couzart, P.O. Box 2103, Palatka, FL 32178.
