Albert "Al" Keith Hunter, 59, of Gainesville, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Haven Hospice, E. T. York Hospice Care Center, Gainesville. He was born on Sunday, June 17, 1962, in Fort Lauderdale, FL., the second of four children of Vivian (Valentine) Armstead and James Richardson. He was educated in the Broward County FL School District and was a 1980 graduate of Stranaham High School. In 1982, he earned an Associate's degree in Hotel Restaurant and Management from Broward Community College. In 2002, Albert earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
He was affectionately called "Keith" by family and "Al" by the rest of the world. He was the first in his family to receive a bachelor's degree. Throughout his life, he has been employed in the restaurant, information technology, heavy construction equipment manufacturing, and car sales industries. He was presently employed with Davis Chevrolet, Gainesville.
In 1981, his daughter Tracy was born (mother, Debborah Bozeman (Ingram). In 1989, he united in marriage Latrell Denese Jackson and they became the proud parents of two sons, Chaddrick and Trey. He also has two special sons, Isaac and Deon Chapman.
"Al" was a former member of Saint John Methodist Church, Fort Lauderdale and New Directions Church, Memphis, TN. He was presently a member of PASSAGE Family Church, Gainesville.
"Al" enjoyed fishing, watching sports (he especially loved the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, and Miami Hurricanes), playing cards and dominoes, and traveling.
He was preceded in eternal rest by his parents.
He leaves to celebrate his legacy: wife , Latrell Hunter; daughter , Tracy Hunter; sons , Chaddrick Hunter, Trey Hunter; siblings , LaVette (Rick) Williams, Claudia "Joannie" Valentine, Crystal Hunter, Rodney Rackley, Kevin Richardson, Tarsha (Wilson) Roland, Tosha Williamson, Tashicha Taylor; Chantral Warner; special sons , Isaac (Jazmine) Chapman, Deon (Dana) Chapman; aunts , Louis Bush, Cynthia Sawyer; mother-in-law , Catherine Jackson; brothers-in-law, Bobby (Olive) Jackson, John Jackson, Ricky (Beverly) Jackson, Kenny Jackson, Donald Jackson, Mark Jackson, Gary Jackson, Barry Jackson; sisters-in-law, Diane Lewis, Tracey Jackson, Janet Jackson, Pamela Jackson; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be one hour prior to service. Life Celebration Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, March 19 at Passage Family Church, 2020 N.E. 15th Street, Gainesville, Pastor George Dix. Interment will be in Forest Meadows Memorial Park (Central), 4100
NW 39th Ave., Gainesville.
