A'Daya Ni'Chelle Mason, 19, of Gainesville, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at her residence. The daughter of Vanessa Walker and Alfredo Alvarado, she was born on Thursday, April 28, 2005 in Palatka, FL. She was educated in the Bristol County VA School District during her elementary and middle school years. She was educated in Putnam County FL School District at Crescent City Jr/Sr High School. She was a longtime member of The Greater King's Chapel, Abingdon, VA and formerly The Lord's Temple, Hastings. A'Daya subsequently relocated to Gainesville, FL. She loved spending time with her daughter and family. She also enjoyed playing basketball and volleyball, cheerleading, dancing and sewing. A'Daya was a beautiful, smart, intelligent, creative, and caring young lady.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in eternal rest by two grandfathers; great grandparents, Luman and Lena Mason; great-great grandmother, Mary Dixon.
A'Daya leaves to cherish her memories: loving daughter, Ra'Maya Amiri Peace Thomas; devoted mothers, Vanessa Walker, LaTanya Chestnut, Kandy Brantley; devoted grandmothers, Margie Mason, Ella White; grandfather; devoted brothers, Kaytreon Gillespie, Dayshon Emily Gillespie, Jaeden Mason, TraVarius Chestnut; devoted sister, Tra'Vesia Chestnut; a host of aunts and uncles, including Tyrone (Brittany) Mason, George (Arlisha) Gills, Lillie Scott, Lashonda Mason, Barbara Richardson; her daughter's father, Romell Thomas; godparents, Larry and Angela Brinson, William and Sylvia Reid; countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially, Keyuna Rutledge, Jasinda Johnson, Nimoy Thomas.
Visitation: 12 noon - 2 p.m. with a Celebration of Life commencing at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, South Campus, 608 Randolph St., Crescent City, Rev. Karl N. Flagg, Pastor. Pastor Travis Reynolds, Empowering Word Christian Fellowship, Palatka, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Crescent City.
