April 23, 1921 – September 15, 2018
He was a janitorial employe e at the former Palatka Atlanta National Bank for 20 years. He loved to work in h is garden and is known for the beautiful yard and fruit trees he maintained year round . He was formally recognized by the Palatka Daily News as a Master Gardener . H e had a " green thumb " when it came to planting because the re wa s nothing that he could not grow. Deacon Moody often stated , "I am a dedicated gardener , both spiritually and physically. " Those who would s it for a moment with him heard a preached sermon ," because he was full of wisdom. When asked about his favorite scripture, he couldn't choose a favorite verse and replied, "I'm so full of the Word , all of them are my favorite. " In 1943, he commenced his spiritual journey at Zion Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Henry Williams in Gainesville, w ho also pastored in Palatka. He continued his journey in 1944 at Zion Temple Church of God in Christ in Palatka where he has been a faithful member and deacon and subsequently earned Senior Deacon distinction . He was also a self-taught gifted guitar ist . Playing the guitar provided relaxation and it was an honor for him to worship the Lord through music.
He leaves a host of family members who will miss his wisdom and his sense of humor and to cherish his memories . He is the devoted father of Jerline (Joseph) Galloway and Reginald ( Pastor Dorothy) Moody ; The honorable grandfather of 5 grandsons , Kevin Galloway, Gainesville; Stephen Galloway, Jason ( S hannon) Galloway, Reginald Moody, II, Zacchaeus Ali Moody, all of Interlachen; 19 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson ; and a host of other relatives and friends .
Visitation of family and friends will be 4-7 p.m., Monday , September 24 , at "Flagg Chapel of Serenity." A service will be held graveside at 11 a .m., Tuesday, September 25 , in Sister Springs Cemetery, 137 Hickory Road, Interlachen with his pastor, Elder Antonio V. Ruth, of Zion Temple Church of God in Christ , Palatka, officiating .
