Obituary

Abraham Juliet English, 78, of Hastings, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at his residence. A native of Lake City (Suwannee Valley Community), Florida, he was born on Friday, January 4, 1935 to John Henry and Edith Singleton English. Abraham was educated in the Columbia County School District at the Springville Community School. He was raised in Lake City and resided there for 27 years, before moving to Hastings in 1962. He was a lifelong migrant worker and master carpenter until retirement, due to declining health. He was a former member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church, Hastings Quarterback Club, and Sturwell Masonic Lodge #348 F. & A.M. In addition to his parents, Abraham was preceded in eternal rest by his siblings, John Henry, Jr., John L., Thomas, Rufus, Mary, Edith, Louise, and Cora Lee. Abraham lives forever in the hearts of: a loving wife, Anna Robinson English, Hastings; Miami; children, Wanda (Maurice) Brown and Ronnie Jones, Lake City; Missionary Dallastine English and Mary Ann Merritt, Gainesville; Solomon (Kenya) English and Jerome English, Hastings; Minister John (Wanda) English and Willie Davis, Palatka; Johnnie Dell (James) Morrison, Armstrong; Maurice Robinson, Keystone Heights; Sister, Gladys Brown, Miami; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Earl Robinson and Melba Dennis, Hastings; Sherman Robinson, Sr., Lois Robinson, and Winston Robinson, St. Augustine; Elmo Robinson, Orange Mills; Alice Robinson, Palatka; Glorianne Robinson, Virginia; and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; other relatives and sorrowing friends. Visitation of family and friends at the Lord's Temple will be 6-8 p.m., Friday. Homegoing Celebration will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27 at The Lord's Temple, City of Refuge, 140 Gilmore Street, Hastings, Elder Thomas Cave III, Pastor. His grandson, Elder Warren English, of Rohi Deliverance Ministries, Gainesville, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, San Mateo.
